Hello,
What if you could write (or edit) your next Wikipedia article in Markdown?
Am I dreaming? Let's make it a reality. To start let's evolve the
Wikipedia Markup and add some Markdown goodies.
See the Wikipedia Markup Cheetsheet for Text with Instructions
(.texti) [1] for a start.
Thoughts? Comments?
To get started let's quote Adam Michael Wood‏ from an answer on

Text with Instructions (.texti) is not a good new format. It's just a mashup of two imperfect
formats. It doesn't provide any real improvements to either wiki or md
What is actually needed (but probably won't ever happen) is a version of markdown that
provides the structure and semantics of .rst
